Base Hospital (BH) Rikillagaskada is the Apex Hospital of Rikillagaskada Cluster of the Nuwara Eliya District and manage all the COVID 19 patients in the surrounding areas.
Under Asia Pacific Disaster Response Fund (APDRF) of the Health System Enhancement Project (HSEP) has installed new Emergency Electricity Generator at BH Rikillagaskada which is provided uninterrupted power supply to High Dependency Unit (HDU) and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) essential to manage COVID-19 patients. It also enhances the essential clinical services of the whole hospital by providing uninterrupted power supply to the Operation Theater where life-saving surgical Interventions and Emergency Obstetric surgeries are performed 24/7.
This will improve the Shared Care Cluster System of Rikillagaskada cluster established under the Health System Enhancement Project.
