Among the priority areas of Health System Enhancement Project (HSEP), increase utilization of Primary Health Care Services, prevention of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), provision of Essential Service Package (ESP), address nutritional issues, disability care with special attention to less privilege people, assuring gender equality and social safeguard, environmental preservation and control of emerging and reemerging communicable diseases have been identified.
Effective communication and health promotion play a key role in achieving the results of this priority areas.
Due to many constant district level health promotion activities have taken rather low level in health priorities. To addressed this issue, the project has identified the need of health promotion activities in the district and has procured 9 vans for health education and promotion for project funded districts.
Total value of the procurement is around LKR 90 million. Recently Hon. Minister of Health and Hon. Governor North Central Province has distributed vehicles among the district.
