Health System Enhancement Project (HSEP); 2018 – 2023 official launch was held on 1st of April 2019 at Jasmine Hall BMICH with the collaboration of Ministry of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine (MOHNIM) and Asian Development Bank (ADB), under the patronage of Hon. Minister of Health, Dr. Rajitha Senaratne. The ceremony was chaired by the Secretary Ministry of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine , Director General of Health Services Dr. Anil Jasinghe, ADB Country Director Ms. Sri Widowati, Project Director (HSEP) Dr. Anil Dissanayake and Dr. Brian Chin Social Sector Specialist ADB Headquarters. Chief Secretaries, Provincial Health Secretaries and representatives with other relevant departments also attended the ceremony.
Technical sessions were addressed by Dr. S. Sridaran, DDG Planning, MOHNIM, Dr. Vindya Kunarapeli, Director Policy Analysis and Acting Director, Organization and Development, MOHNIM, Dr. Indika Jagoda, Director Health Information, MOHNIM, Dr. Palitha Bandara, PDHS North Central Province.
In his speech Dr. S. Sridharan explained the reorganization of Health Care System in Sri Lanka. Dr. Vindya Kumarapeli defined the importance of Essential Service Package for Secondary and Primary Health Care in Sri Lanka. How to apply Geographic Information System (GIS) to Health Planning and Management at the Regional Level in Sri Lanka was explained by Dr. Indika Jagoda and Dr. Palitha Bandara demonstrate the established clusters under the Healthcare Reorganization Policy in the North Central, Central, Uva and Sabaragamuwa Province.
